Malls are a lifesaver for Filipino fur parents: air-conditioned, shaded from the rain and full of pet-friendly restaurants. Most big mall chains in the Philippines now welcome pets — but each chain has its own rules on leashes, diapers, pet passes and where pets can’t go. This guide explains the rules for SM, Ayala, Robinsons, Megaworld, Araneta City and Rockwell malls, and lists pet-friendly malls on FluffyTrips.
Good to know: rules below are based on the malls’ own published policies and a May 2025 Philstar Life roundup. Policies change, and individual stores and restaurants inside a mall can set stricter rules — always follow posted signs.
Rules that apply at almost every mall
- Leash, stroller or carrier. Pets must be leashed, in a stroller or carrier, or carried at all times.
- Diapers. Diapers are required at some malls and strongly encouraged at others — just bring one.
- Vaccinations up to date. Bring a copy of your pet’s vaccination record, especially anti-rabies.
- Never on tables or chairs. Keep pets off food court tables, chairs, baby changing stations and grocery baskets.
- Clean up right away. Carry wipes and poop bags.
- Aggressive or sick pets can be refused entry, and owners are responsible for any damage or injury.
Mall rules by chain
SM Supermalls
No registration is needed to enter. Pets must be leashed, in a carrier or stroller, or carried, and diapers are highly encouraged. All breeds and sizes are allowed in common areas, elevators and escalators. Pets aren’t allowed on food court tables or chairs, on restroom diaper changers, or in children’s play areas. Many SM malls also have Paw Parks where dogs can play off-leash — registration is required, and at the Paw Park at SM Aura dogs must be at least 4 months old and fully vaccinated. See SM Supermalls’ pet tips.
Ayala Malls
Get an Ayala Malls Pet ID at the concierge or admin office. Size rules depend on the mall: some allow common domestic dogs and cats of any size, while others only allow small pets under 30 lbs in a stroller or carry-on bag. Ask the concierge which rules apply at your mall.
Robinsons Malls
You need a Pet Pass (through the Happy Pets Club on the RMalls+ app). According to Robinsons Malls’ pet policy, dogs must wear a diaper inside, leashes must be short (no longer than 1 meter), and pets must be carried on escalators and elevators. Pets can only pass through food courts and aren’t allowed in cinemas.
Megaworld Lifestyle Malls
Uptown Bonifacio, Venice Grand Canal, Eastwood City, Lucky Chinatown, Southwoods and Festive Walk Iloilo use a digital pet pass: scan the QR code at the entrance or concierge, fill out the form, and the pass is emailed to you. Venice Grand Canal Mall asks pet owners to check in at the concierge.
Araneta City
Gateway Mall, Ali Mall, Farmers Plaza and the rest of Araneta City use a free Pet Pals ID. Fill out the online form, then bring a printed copy, a photocopy of your pet’s vaccination record and a 1×1 photo to the concierge. Look for Pet Pals stickers on pet-friendly shops.
Power Plant Mall (Rockwell)
You need a Rockwell Pet Passport (current rabies vaccination and a 2×2 pet photo). Only small to medium pets (up to 22 inches) are allowed indoors and must be carried or in a stroller. Large dogs are limited to outdoor areas like al fresco dining and the Plaza Garden. Pets aren’t allowed in The Marketplace, the chapel or the cinemas.
